Tulsa, OK - Today Superintendent Ryan Walters delivered a memorandum requiring the Bible be included as foundational text for public school curriculum.

“My grandfather was a pastor, my great grandfather was a pastor, both taught me about the importance of faith and the role it plays in all of our lives,” said Rep. Nichols. ‘They also taught me to beware of false prophets as warned about in Matthew 7:15.”

The latest action from Ryan Walters is not just an attack on the separation of church and state, it is worse. It’s an example of an unpopular, unprepared and failed leader trying to use God as a political cover. These actions are not only un-American they are also counter to what we believe as christians.

I stand with Oklahoma students and families of all faith traditions and those who do not subscribe to a faith tradition at all. Our diversity as a community, as a state, is what makes us so strong when we work together to better outcomes for our children.”
